"Doesn't the world have enough weirdo garage punk bands? The answer is NO. The answer to that question is always no.The first song comes off like some maniac was handed a bong, a copy of an early Royal Trux or Pussy Galore record and a guitar in that order and told to recreate the skewered images in their head. There’s a little here for everyone. Chugging garage rock guitar, demented bass sounds that I thought were a synth at first listen and even some moments of pure noise rock. It’s actually kind of hard to pin this band to a genre and that might be one of the best things they have going for them. It’s nice to hear that SoCal isn’t completely doomed to the hotbed of Mac DeMarco and Oh Sees wannabes. The Freakees know that those bands suck and they’re not afraid to say so with song titles like '$ tru$t fund bb $.'" - Andy James
